Event description

Join Us for the Final 2025 ABSTARR Flagship Training!
Don’t miss this exclusive session led by Professor Gregory Phillips, a nationally recognised leader in cultural safety, healing, and decolonisation. With over 30 years of experience driving transformational change across health, education, and social policy, Gregory brings unparalleled insight and expertise.

The ABSTARR CS&SDT goes beyond cultural awareness, holding up a mirror in which we examine ourselves, our processes, structures, and our values and biases. This training offers expertly facilitated transformational learning and unlearning experiences built on a renowned evidence-based cognitive and emotional pedagogy developed by Prof. Gregory Phillips. The aim of this is to affect a paradigm-shift in the way we think about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander outcomes, moving the frame of solutions away from charity and benevolence and towards cultural safety and self-determination underpinned by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, knowledges, and sovereignty.

This offering includes two online facilitated sessions on:
Part A Wednesday 26 November 2025 (10am-3pm AEDT) &
Part B Wednesday 03 December 2025 (10am-3pm AEDT)

The first session, 'Part A - The Problem', asks participants to sit with cultural safety definitions and notions of racism and whiteness.

The second, 'Part B - The Solution', introduces evidence for and models self-determination with space for exploratory discussion. A curated set of readings and resources will accompany these sessions to consolidate learnings and empower participants to move forward in their professional or community roles.

Only 25 tickets are available to this offering so get yours today!

  • An optional 1hr debrief will be made available after Part B to support psychological and cultural safety.
