Entry instructions
The main arrival points to QUT include George Street, the Goodwill Bridge, P Block carpark and the Riverside Expressway carpark. Clear signage will be located at each of these entrances, as well as along the way, to guide you to B Block. B Block is located next to the Brisbane Botanical Gardens, and close to Parliament House. Clear signage will be located outside the building. Google Maps can also guide you to B Block: https://bit.ly/3NSN8IB
After entry instructions
Once you have arrived at B Block, the registration desk will be to your left. The main auditorium will be past the registration table, halfway down the hall to your right. The breakout stream rooms are also all located on this level.
Hazards
QUT is an open campus, so various natural hazards (such as fallen small branches or puddles) may be present due to the weather. There are two routes to the lunch location. One takes you through the Botanic Gardens, down some stairs or an uneven bitumen path, both of which may be difficult to navigate for people with a disability. There is a more accessible pathway, which will be clearly identified and directed on the day. The main entrance to B Block is an automatic sliding double-door. The ramp to access the entryway is narrow, but compliant with Qld regulations.
Toilet location
Accessible toilets are clearly signed and are available close by the main auditorium, as well as the stream rooms.
Accessible parking
QUT is committed to ensuring that all buildings are accessible for visitors who use mobility aids. A short-term (5 minutes) parking zone and taxi drop-off are located outside Parliament House on George Street, which is approximately a 2 minute walk from B Block. There are also a number of designated Disability Parking bays in the public carparks reserved for visitors who hold a Disability Parking permit.
