Academy Live! in May Ft. Paris Rosemont

Once a month, come along to our open mic event! 

Members of our WestWords Academy, alumni and current, will be testing their new poetry and prose on the open mic. Members of the public are welcome to come along and hear Western Sydney's rising artists. Prizes to be won! Drinks and finger food provided. 

6pm door for a 6.30pm start. 

This month's featured performer is Paris Rosemont! 

Paris Rosemont is an award-winning asian-australian poet. Her poetry has found eclectic homes, from international literary journals and anthologies, through to quirky underground zines. Her niche is theatrical performance poetry. Her debut collection, Banana Girl, was shortlisted for the Dame Mary Gilmore Award 2024. Her second poetry collection, Barefoot Poetess, reclaims the word Poetess, and reclaims a woman’s fierce allegiance to her body, sexuality, her selfhood.
