Description

ACA WA invites members to come together for a live, in-person forum focused on connection, shared insight and the issues currently shaping early learning and care across Western Australia.

At a time of significant reform, funding pressure and public scrutiny, this forum creates space for members to step out of the day-to-day, connect with other approved providers, and contribute to the issues ACA WA continues to take forward through advocacy, member support and future resources.

This is a different kind of ACA WA member event. The session will combine a short ACA WA update, facilitated member table conversations, a strategic discussion with committee members, a practical Play Active feature session, lunch and informal networking.

Together, we will explore what providers are seeing across their services and communities, what is working well even in a challenging environment, and what issues are taking more time, energy or leadership attention than expected. The forum will also consider what ACA WA is currently hearing and raising through advocacy, and how member experience can help shape future support, resources and priorities.

A feature of the forum will be What Others Don’t Always Know: The Serious Work of Play, facilitated by Play Active, a research-backed program supporting early childhood education and care services to embed energetic play and physical activity throughout the day.

This hands-on session will invite members to experience active play first, then shift into an educator and provider lens to reflect on the learning, wellbeing, educator skill and leadership decisions sitting behind quality play experiences. Attendees will also consider how simple, practical active play ideas can be taken back to educator teams and embedded into everyday practice.

At a time when early learning is often discussed through the lens of reform, regulation, funding and public scrutiny, this session will bring energy and purpose into the room by reconnecting members with children’s learning, movement, relationships and the good work happening every day in WA services.

The forum will also include From Member Voice to ACA WA Priorities, a facilitated discussion connecting what members raise on the day with ACA WA’s advocacy, member support and forward priorities.

This is an opportunity to strengthen connection, recognise the work of WA approved providers, and ensure member experience continues to inform ACA WA’s work on behalf of the sector.
