What began as a happy accident, when founder Sami (aka Wiltyplant), hosted a meetup in Carlton with strangers to make new friends, quickly revealed something bigger: a shared longing for connection and community.

From this, Wilty Meetups was born in 2022. Since then, it’s blossomed into a vibrant community — hosting meetups, creative workshops and spotlighting local businesses and grassroots groups.

About the Asian Cinema Collective

The Asian Cinema Collective (ACC) was born out of a need for community and an opportunity to share our love for Asian cinema with fellow filmgoers in Melbourne. Open to all, the ACC is a place for both the diaspora and fans of films made in Asia, or films featuring predominantly Asian experiences and stories.
