Accessible Aquatics Day
Event description
To celebrate International Day of People with Disability, Northern Beaches Council invites our community members to an Accessible Aquatics Day where you can come and try the accessible facilities at Manly Aquatic Centre.
International Day of People with Disability is a great opportunity to celebrate inclusivity and promote accessibility in our Northern Beaches Community, acknowledging we are stronger as a community when everyone can participate.
What to expect on the day:
- Accessible Swimming Pool and Facilities: Complimentary access to the pools for each registered person with a disability and one support person or carer.
- Staff on hand to show you the accessible features and assist with using them if needed.
- Connect with other community members as you make a splash!
- A complimentary voucher for the onsite cafe (limited to each registered participant and one support person or carer)
Accessible facilities:Â The Manly Andrew Boy Charlton Aquatic Centre provides a safe and enjoyable experience for patrons with a disability and special needs including:
- Access ramp to allow patrons easy access to pool deck
- Ramp entry to indoor 25 metre pool and program pool
- Water wheelchair available
- Hoist to safely lift patrons in and out of the water
- Accessible change rooms provide shower and toilet facilities for patrons with limited mobility. Duress alarms are fitted in case emergency assistance is required.
- Accessible parking spaces located close to main entrance ramp.
