Event description

Designed for festival and event organisers, this course outlines achievable and effective ways to help ensure your team is prepared and confident to cater for everyone. Covering everything from planning and programming to ticketing and practical venue access solutions. This workshop has been designed by arts experts and festival-goers with disability to support organisations to ace event access.

In this workshop you’ll:
  • Discover proven solutions for planning an accessible event
  • Receive useful resources
  • Learn from trainers with disability who are arts experts
  • Enjoy the increased accessibility and convenience of online training
  • Be able to interact with our trainers as well as other participants, so you can ask questions and share knowledge
  • Come to our public workshop or book a private in-house session

  • Access for: audiences, artists, musicians, actors, writers, creatives, volunteers, staff and contractors
  • A range of access solutions including:
    • Disability representation
    • Information formatting
    • Physical access
    • Lighting, Sound and Audio
    • Indoor air quality
    • Ticketing
    • Access services and programming
    • Maps and wayfinding
    • Content warnings
    • Online and hybrid events
Resources:

Participants receive a comprehensive resource kit as a valuable ongoing reference.

This includes:

  • Detailed resource manual
  • Disability language guide
  • Access checklists
Format:
  • This is an interactive workshop where participants are encouraged to contribute to group discussion.
  • The workshop can be delivered online via video conferencing or in-person.

    All sessions are delivered using the Zoom online conferencing platform (Zoom links are provided following booking)

    About Zoom

    • Zoom is an easy to use, reliable and FREE cloud platform for video and audio conferencing, collaboration, chat, and webinars across mobile devices, desktops and telephones.

    • After signing up for our workshop, you’ll receive an email from us inviting you to a Zoom meeting on the date of the workshop.
    • On the day of the workshop, all you have to do is click on the relevant link in the invitation, follow the prompts and you’ll be part of the workshop.

    Access:

    Closed captioning and Auslan interpreting are available on request for all training. Please advise of your access requirements upon registration. Please note that we require at least 4 working days’ notice.
