The Accidental Counsellor workshop is designed to help you confidently navigate these situations and develop the key skills needed to support others in distress.
In this practical, outcome-focused workshop, you’ll learn:
How to recognise the signs of stress and distress in both yourself and others, and how to respond effectively
A 3-step active listening model to confidently manage conversations with those in emotional distress
Techniques to build your own resilience, including setting boundaries and practising self-care
The role of the "Accidental Counsellor" and how to effectively navigate this responsibility in a professional setting

This workshop is ideal for anyone in a client- or customer-facing role, including those working in customer service, education, healthcare, aged care, disability services, and those supporting families. Whether you work with clients, customers, or colleagues in high-stress situations, this course will help you respond appropriately, manage distress, and protect your own well-being.
