Accidental Counsellor Training - Baw Baw Shire Council with Lifeline Gippsland

An Accidental Counsellor is: A counsellor by chance. Maybe you’ve noticed a family member, friend or colleague displaying signs of stress, anger, depression or despair.Â
What do you do? What do you say? Are you equipped to handle this?
This training is designed to help build your ability and confidence to support others, as well as learn tools to look after yourself.
The training is free, Council will provide the training through Lifeline Gippsland at various locations across the Baw Baw Shire.
The course will go for five hours and you will come out of it feeling more informed on mental health, and how to help
The training will be held at the following times and locations in Longwarry, Trafalgar and Yarragon:Â
- Friday, 10 May at Longwarry Public Hall, LongwarryÂ
- Wednesday, 22 May at Trafalgar Community Centre, TrafalgarÂ
- Saturday, 25 May at Longwarry Primary School, LongwarryÂ
- Wednesday, 29 May at Longwarry Public Hall, LongwarryÂ
- Wednesday, 19 June at Yarragon Bowls Club, YarragonÂ

The training session will start at 930am and the training session will finish at 230pm.
Morning tea and lunch will be provided. Please confirm any dietary requirements when booking tickets.Â
