Event description
ACFID 2025
Driving Transformation in Development and Humanitarian Action
Celebrating 60 Years of Global Impact
In 2025, the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) marks its 60th anniversary – a milestone that recognizes six decades of bold leadership, collective action, and tireless advocacy for a more just, sustainable, and equitable world.
The ACFID National Conference is our flagship event, and this year it offers a platform to reflect, collaborate and innovate under the theme of “Driving Transformation in Development and Humanitarian Action.” Held over two days in Canberra, the event will celebrate progress, discuss critical global challenges, and shape new paths forward.
The main conference event on 6 November is built on an intensive one-day program featuring a diverse range of speakers bringing fresh insights and perspectives relating to the conference themes. The event will feature plenary and concurrent sessions, panel discussions, an exhibition space, and will offer ample opportunities for in-person networking.
Side events for the conference include:
ACFID 2025 Annual General Meeting on 5 November (ACFID members only)
Pre-Conference Evening Reception at QT Hotel on 5 November (all delegates)
Parliamentary Breakfast with MPs, sector leaders and other stakeholders at Parliament House, Canberra (TBC)
Join us for two exciting days in the national capital to celebrate a significant milestone for the sector and engage in forward-looking discussions on how we can drive transformation in development and humanitarian action!
