Event description

The first CCL Australia Conference in 2021 will be this Sunday 28th March @ 1:00pm AEDT on Zoom, with lobby meetings with Senators and MPs during the following five weeks (parliament is not sitting during those 5 weeks).

Citizens' Climate Lobby Australia will be launching our new NZE2050 Political Strategy at the Conference. We will be asking both the Coalition and Labor to come together with a bipartisan approach to achieve Net Zero Emissions by 2050, supporting both the Zali Steggall Climate Bill and of course our favourite approach for pricing carbon. There is a 5 to 6 week federal parliamentary break directly after the conference, so lots of opportunities for MP & Senator lobby meetings.

The conference will give you all the information and training required to make a meeting with your MP easy and enjoyable. There will be a $10 registration fee as a small donation to CCLA.

The Lobby meetings in April will be either Zoom or in person, whichever suits best. The main focus of the lobbying will be on how Australia can achieve Net-Zero Emissions by 2050. Asking our politicians to a build a plan to achieve Net-Zero Emissions by 2050 opens up the conversation for the need to have a price on carbon.

We're looking for keen and enthusiastic CCL members to take part in lobby meetings. Email conference@ccl.org.au to register your interest and for your chance to come face to face with a politician in person or on Zoom.
