Presented by Sharon Paley & Dr Brent Hayward

(This will only be sold with a ticket for day 2)

ACRRE Restraint Reduction Symposium

Dignity in Practice: Reducing Restraint and Upholding Rights

This one-day event will bring together international and national experts in the field of restraint reduction with the aim of commencing a meaningful conversation about how we move beyond policy to make restraint reduction possible. With representation across aged care, disability, education, mental health and child safety this symposium will be values focused, action – oriented and provide cross conversations.

Why should you be part of this event?

  • Because the gap between knowing and doing is still there.

  • Because it’s practical, not just policy, led by practitioners who have walked the walk.

  • Because the same issues keep repeating

  • Because it brings sectors together

  • Because it tackles the hard realities

  • Because outcomes matter

Reducing restraint isn’t just compliance—it’s about human rights, safety, dignity, and better lives for the people you support or educate.

This event is convened by ACRRE with our guest co-convenor Dr Brent Hayward who will provide a short opening address to the audience.

Tickets include morning tea, light lunch and afternoon tea.
