Basic Acrylic Painting
The aim of this basic acrylic painting class is to take students on a journey to enjoy the techniques surrounding the medium. In doing so each week students will complete a simple painting of a landscape or some other topic on either paper or canvas.
What will be covered in this course?
Step by step instructions about acrylic techniques from setting up of a palette, understanding brushes and palette knives, mixing colours for students to be able to complete a simple painting project each lesson for the duration of the course.
By the end of this course students will:
Have a good understanding of acrylic techniques to enable them to work on more complex projects and to have fun in the process.
THIS CLASS IS FOR:
Persons over the age of 18 years of age who have a desire to learn the basics about acrylic painting.
Material and equipment required
· 5 sheets of Watercolour paper 280 gsm A3
· 10 sheets of Canvas 280 gsm A3
· Mont Marte Signature paint set
· Brushes; 1 x flat size 20, 1 x flat size 18, 1 each of round size 8, 4 and 2, liner and small fan and palette knife
· Corflute board A3 size
· Impasto medium
· Palette to mix paints (suggest A4 plastic box with low sides)
· Ruler, easer, tissues, masking tape and spray bottle
Handouts will be distributed with the tasks each lesson

TIME: 6pm to 8.30 pm
DURATION: 6 weeks (no class on 9 June - King's Birthday holiday)
