Uncover your unique gifts - and use them to connect, contribute, and build stronger communities.
As part of the Act Local capacity building online program, you're invited to an engaging Gift Discovery Workshop, proudly presented by Town Team Movement and facilitated by the community connectors at Befriend.
This interactive 2-hour session invites you to reflect on and explore your gifts - the unique skills, talents, and passions you bring to your relationships and community. Through guided activities and meaningful group discussions, you’ll connect with others and generate ideas for how you can give your gifts in everyday life - in your neighbourhood, social groups, and beyond.
What you’ll experience:
Learn about the concept of gifts as a pathway to belonging and contribution
Discover your own unique gifts and talents
Explore how to express your gifts in your relationships, family, neighbourhood, and local community
Deepen your connections through shared reflection and storytelling

About Befriend
Befriend are a collective of community builders, change-makers, researchers, and consultants, united in our mission to nurture inclusive, connected communities where everyone is valued, connected, and feels like they belong.
Since their establishment as a community-building organisation in 2010, they have worked with over 20,000 West Australians on initiatives that nurture connected lives within thriving communities. Their diverse range of partnership collaborations with government, business and community organisations have spanned from large place-based community building projects to leadership programs, retreats and workplace cultural enrichment initiatives.
Befriend host experiences that nurture the conditions for people to see life with fresh perspectives, discover their gifts, and discern their own ways of contributing in their relationships, groups and communities that will be more life-giving. When working with community groups and organisations, they nurture an inclusive atmosphere that welcomes forth the diverse gifts of all people and cultivates harmonious ways of relating that give life to community efforts.
The Act Local is a new Active Citizenship Building Program designed for individual Active Citizens and Volunteer Involving Organisations (VIOs) and offers a range of comprehensive resources, networking and training opportunities. Program aims to:
inspire and engage individuals in volunteering opportunities,
support community organisations in attracting and retaining volunteers,
create exciting capacity building and volunteering opportunities and
promote and celebrate active citizenship to build more connected, empowered and thriving regional communities.
