Event description

Acting 301

630pm-930pm Mondays

27 October - 15 December 2025
$480 for 8 sessions in small group training plus public performance

Ready to be tested? This course is for the Acting 201 graduates from the 2023 course AND anyone with some performance experience. We start with an …audition! Yes that’s right! You know the theatre, you know Lexi and at the Mill we work on life with all the boring bits cut out. Acting 301 is a safe place to test yourself with plenty of support around you to take your acting to another place. Participants will then get an overview of the work completed in 201 with specific feedback before beginning work on scenes and monologues to be performed publicly on 15 December 2025.

In 301 the course work becomes more bespoke to each participant as you are guided towards performance. This practical course will involve the review of 201, more technique support, tailored exercises for each participant, tuition for the public performance, a preview show plus feedback before the final production.

Those who have not attended the 201 course but are keen to join 301 are welcome to send an email to hello@milltheatreatdairyroad.com and please list your acting experience and goals. We can have a chat and see what will be possible!

LOCATION

The Mill Theatre is in Building 3.3, the Screencraft and KeepCo building which is a short walk from Capital Brewing. There are two easy ways to approach the Theatre:

PARK in P3 at the back of the precinct. From there you will see building 3.3 which has a large Screencraft sign. The public entrance is just up from that sign (not underneath it!). Once inside, walk about 5 metres and the theatre is to the right, next to Mojo Guitars.

WALK from Capital Brewing or the Less sculpture into the KeepCo building, pass Ramen Daddy and at the end of the corridor we are on the left.

PARKING

All parking in the precinct is free with several accessible parking spots in all the parking locations. The best spot to park is P3 at the back of the precinct. If you park elsewhere please be warned that signage and way-finding around the precinct is extremely difficult. Arrive in plenty of time to possibly get lost, possibly be in a bad mood!
