Event description

SCHOOL HOLIDAY ACTING WORKSHOP - FRIDAY JANUARY 17th 2024 12:00PM TO 2:00PM

THE NEW LYRIC THEATRE - 7 Bourke St, Bunbury

AGES 13 TO 17 YEARS.

Students attend ONE session from 12:00pm to 2:00pm

Building Actors Bunbury offers students the opportunity to learn acting skills through improvisation, verbal and non-verbal communication, public speaking, mime, characterisation, script work, monologues, duologues and pretend play.

Throughout the 2 hour workshop students will participate in a range of drama activities which assist in building their confidence and drama skills at the same time. We begin the session with group work to allow students to recognise that they are working in a safe-space and we then advance the students onto working in smaller groups where they can begin to express their creative ideas. By the end of the session, we encourage students to 'have a go' at some individual work to boost their confidence.

Hollie (the teacher) is a highly qualified Drama specialist, who has been working with children in Bunbury since 2006. Prior to that, she obtained all her experience, qualifications and skills from Perth at WAAPA and ECU. Hollie has worked on mini tv series and video clips and has also worked at Barking Gecko Theatre Co and Frog Management Acting Agency. Since having her own children (ages 4, 8, 10 and 12) she has found a new passion for educating younger children.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: If we do not get a minimum of 10 students - the class will not go ahead and parents will be issued a refund, which will not include the booking fees.
