Actuaries: Champions of Sustainability
Event description
In 2015, all member states of the United Nations adopted ‘The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development’. This includes 17 Sustainable Development Goals and 169 targets aimed at achieving peace and prosperity for people and the planet. With just 6 years left on the timeline, much of the progress made over the years has been erased, slowed, or halted by COVID-19, global conflicts and the resulting high inflationary environment, as well as the growing impacts of climate change. As part of a well-respected profession, actuaries are expected to act in the public's best interest. In this context, it is vital that we play our part in this global partnership towards sustainability across developed and developing countries as well as public and private sectors. Join us on 14th August to understand how you can incorporate sustainability principles into your actuarial work. Arrive at 4:30 pm for a 4:45pm start. Auckland: Deloitte Centre, Level 20, 1 Queen Street, Auckland CBD Wellington: Deloitte, Level 12, 20 Customhouse Quay, Wellington Virtual: Members can also join virtually.
