Un[lockdown]: A Curiosity Expedition
Event description
Why Curiosity?
Everyone's COVID reality is different. You might be wondering if you have become stuck in the moment. Have you? Did you know that curiosity is a tool we can use to break free? We know from neuroscience that when we are curious we anticipate an intrinsic cognitive reward and our brains light up (releasing dopamine). Curiosity stimulates the reward and pleasure centre of our brain. Curiosity also enhances the connections between brain networks associated with learning, information seeking and motivation. People who are curious are more inclusive team members and twice as likely to earn promotions than their non-curious peers. We all have the gift of curiosity, we just need to activate it.
Why A Curiosity Expedition?
In this experiential workshop, you will be led on a guided visualisation, interact with others in small break-out groups, and learn the science, strategies and tools to make more intentional space in your day for a curious mindset.
‘The real voyage of discovery consists of not in seeking new lands but seeing with new eyes.’ Marcel Proust
