PLEASE READ THIS:

There are 3 ticket types available: Reservation ($20), General Admission ($5), and Walk In (Free). All require an approved adoption application.

One ticket per household, per event.

  1. Reservation tickets ($20) essentially offer one potential adopter the right to meet that puppy first, and only between 9:30-10am. Because only one person can set a reservation for each reservable pup for an event, please don't make a reservation if you are not 100% certain that you will be attending. Pups attending their first adoption event are not eligible for reservations and their numbers will not be available to select as a result. To meet pups whose names/numbers aren't an option in the reservation tickets, please choose either a general admission or walk-in ticket.
*****You will only be allowed to meet with the dog you are reserving. If that dog is not a fit, you will need to meet other pups during the general admission portion of the event.*****

  2. General Admission tickets ($5) are from 10am-12pm and are best for people wanting to meet with multiple dogs, or those interested in pups who just became available and are attending their first adoption event. This list is called after the reservation list, in the order that you sign up.

  3. Walk-in tickets ($0) are from 10am-12pm and are served in the order you sign up and immediately after the General Admission list hast been called. Those physically walking-in during the event will be added to the end of the walk-in list in the order they arrive. Walk-ins are still required to have an approved adoption application, so we encourage you to complete one in advance.

Please read the bio from each puppy's foster to help decide whether any of the dogs will fit into your home. Some adoption events are highly-attended, but often have quite a variety of pups in need of amazing homes; if a busy atmosphere and patience are not your jam, you may want to either wait until there's a pup you'd like to meet who is eligible for a reservation ticket and try that, or come to the event around 11:15am and keep an open mind about who might steal your heart.

Here's our weekly timeline:

  • 9:25 am

    Doors Open

We open our front doors to attendees at 9:25am, and we typically have a pop-up coffee bar courtesy of Green Hat Coffee available while you hang out. Prior to this, our volunteers are working hard to get all foster families and their pups in and settled so they're ready to meet families when the event starts. It feels rude to have people walking in and not have the ability to answer questions and chat, but getting prepped to start our events requires all hands on deck; for this reason, we wait until we're almost ready and can be available to open the doors.

  • 9:30 am

    Announcements

We try to go over the highlights of the process at the beginning of the event. This includes policies like only meeting one pup at a time, how to navigate meeting with a different pup if the first one isn't a fit, and what the adoption contract process entails.

  • 9:35 am - 10:00 am

    Reservation Window

Adopters who purchased a reservation ticket (the $20 ticket) to meet with one, specific pup do so during this window. Only reservation tickets are honored during this time, and if the pup isn't a good fit, people with reservation tickets who want to meet with other pups are required to do so during the general admission window. Reservations who don't show up by 10am are forfeited. Any pups who were reserved but not adopted are able to be met with during the general admission period.

  • 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

    General Admission

General admission starts at 10am. There are times that the reservation portion doesn't require the full 30-minutes, but in those cases we try to hold-off on starting the GA part until the first few adopters on the list are present, or 10am, whichever is first. The GA list is called to meet with pups in the order that adopters signed-up. For events with a lot of pups, it can take the full two hours to get through everyone. If you signed-up on a Thursday or Friday for a Saturday event, you can usually wait until 10:30am/10:45am to show up and still be there in time for your name to be called. Adopters who aren't present when it's their turn but come in later are called at the end of the GA list, just before we start to call-back our walk-ins.

  • 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

    Walk-Ins

The walk-in list starts to be called immediately following the general admission list. Although there is no set time, we very rarely start walk-ins prior to 10:30am. Although we advertise our closing time at Noon, we do not kick-out adopters who are still in the process and we will serve each approved adopter prior to closing.

  • 12:00 pm

Closing, Cleaning, and Foster Pick Up

Immediately following our adoption events, foster families pick up the pups who are not adopted. This process can take a bit as our foster families live all over the metro area, but once we close, everyone has quite a list of tasks to get through before we can leave for the day; we do not leave any pups at our location outside of the windows of our adoption events, so each pup must go to a foster home at the end of the events. All wall crates, travel crates, and surfaces are sanitized and supplies that were used for the week are cleaned and put away. Paperwork is filed and prep for the next week, including website updates, plans for new intakes, and supply replenishment is finished during this time.
