If you have lost a loved one to a dust disease, join us for our annual non-denominational Ecumenical Service as part of Asbestos Awareness Week.

Date: Friday 27th November 2026

Service: 11am to 12pm

Complimentary Lunch: 12pm to 1.30pm

Location: The Cathedral of St Stephen, Elizabeth Street Brisbane

This is an opportunity to remember all those who we have lost with an asbestos or dust-related disease, or those who are currently suffering from these illnesses.

The Asbestos Disease Support Society (ADSS) is a not-for-profit organisation providing essential support to individuals affected by asbestos-related diseases, as well as their families and carers. Founded in 1992 by the late Mrs Shirley White OAM, the Society has grown into a trusted source of assistance, advocacy, awareness, and education.

ADSS is committed to delivering high-quality support services to those impacted by asbestos exposure. The Society also works to advocate for stronger protections, lobbying all levels of government to address asbestos-related issues. Through community and workplace awareness programs, ADSS helps educate the public on the dangers of asbestos exposure. Additionally, the Society collaborates with the health sector to improve understanding and treatment of asbestos-related diseases.

ADSS provides a range of free services to members, including advice on asbestos-related issues, telephone support, morning teas, and support groups in local communities. The Society also assists with referrals to experienced legal professionals and maintains a register of asbestos exposure.
