The second week of ORBIT sees Amy Zhang's [gameboy] and Future History by Gabrielle Nankivell come take over The Odeon.

Purchasing a ticket to this event admits you to the full Week 2 program on your selected night. The works will be performed with a short interval between each presentation.

About the works:

ORBIT Week 2 sees artists push the form of contemporary dance to the limit.

Amy Zhang's [gameboy] fuses street and contemporary styles to pit two characters against each other in a series of escalating physical challenges. Inspired by Japanese game shows, the weirdest corners of the internet and the remarkable power of the dancer's body, Zhang's lauded work asks us what it takes to 'win at life' and at what cost. Gabrielle Nankivell's Future History located the human body within moments of global discord, extinction and catastrophe. Nankivell uses design, sculpture and sound to create a living and breathing ritual about the ingenuity of life on earth.

[gameboy] and Future History connect through their renegade inventiveness and interest in what impacts us now. One steps into the screen and unflinchingly looks back, one reaches into both past and future to imagine something new. Both create something unforgettable.
