Advance to Zero Learning Session (Day 1)

The Australian Alliance to End Homelessness is thrilled to invite you to the 2024 annual in-person Advance to Zero Learning Session for Improvement Cycle 11.

Come connect with community teams working to end homelessness across Australia as part of Advance to Zero. Each six-monthly Learning Session provides a key opportunity for everyone involved in the movement to meet and share progress towards our common goal.

This event will focus on building AtoZ communities’ skills, sharing and learning from communities across Australia and creating connections between our work.

Places are limited, so make sure to register as soon as possible. Registration must close on October 1, 2024 to accommodate venue booking requirements.

For those unable to attend the session in person, we will be sharing event materials after the Learning Session and hosting our April 2025 session online.

AHVTT training session (Day 2)

We’re excited to announce an in-person training session on the Australian Homelessness Vulnerability Triage Tool (AHVTT), the new tool set to replace the VI-SPDAT. Starting from 1 October 2024, we aim to support the use of the AHVTT across the AtoZ movement. For more background on the tool and its development, please see our previous memo here.

This interactive training session will be held during the National Ending Homelessness Summit and AtoZ Learning Session in Fremantle, Western Australia, in October 2024. You can find more information about the Summit and register here.

Join us for an engaging learning experience where you'll explore:

The development of the tool, including insights from people with lived experience of homelessness and First Nations people
Key differences between the VI-SPDAT and the AHVTT
An introduction to the tool and the resources available to support its use
Application of the tool in triage, case management, practice improvement, policy, and systems reform
The relationship to data collection and impact
Cultural engagement framework and safety in the use of the tool
Support available to you and your organisation for considering or using the tool.

You’ll also learn about the AAEH AHVTT Community of Practice (CoP), which is supporting the implementation of the tool nationwide.

Best of all, the session is open to everyone! No prior familiarity with the VI-SPDAT, the AHVTT, or involvement in the movement is required.

If you are part of a current formal Advance to Zero community or your organisation has signed a by-name list member agreement (for WA communities only), you are eligible for complimentary tickets to the Learning Session. Please contact your local lead for more information.
The 2024 Learning Session is taking place after the Australian Zero Homelessness Summit on October 16. You must register for the Summit in addition to the Learning Session.
