Description

Description

Artificial intelligence is already reshaping how public safety agencies operate, from crime forecasting and digital evidence analysis to OSINT workflows and daily documentation. This is true for large metro departments and it's just as true for a small sheriff's office or a two-person investigations unit. The question is no longer whether AI will affect law enforcement. It's whether your agency has a plan to use it responsibly and effectively, and whether you have any policy in place at all.

This is not an AI report writing class.

Advanced AI Tools in Law Enforcement is a focused, 6.5-hour onsite training that breaks down AI in plain language, with no technical background required, and connects it directly to real law enforcement use cases your agency is already running into: OSINT research, open-source investigations, records requests, digital evidence, and public records concerns. You don't need a technology unit, a crime analyst, or a big budget to benefit from this class. If you have a computer and a caseload, this training applies to you.

By the end of the day, attendees will understand what AI can and cannot do, where the legal and ethical lines are drawn, and how to begin integrating free or low-cost tools into daily investigative work immediately, along with what your agency needs to have in writing before you do.

What You Will Learn

  • What artificial intelligence actually is, how machine learning works, and the key terminology every agency leader needs to know, explained without the jargon

  • How AI is being applied in law enforcement today, with a strong focus on AI-supported OSINT: open-source research, social media investigations, and information gathering techniques any investigator can use

  • Hands-on practice with multiple AI tools for OSINT, documentation review, data analysis, and investigative support, all low-cost or free and deployable the same week you get back to the office

  • Surveillance and data privacy risks, algorithmic bias, misidentification concerns, and how to manage AI hallucinations so tools help your case instead of hurting it

  • The legal and policy landscape: federal executive orders, the National AI Initiative, and best-practice guidelines for responsible deployment, including what a basic AI use policy should cover for an agency that doesn't have one yet

  • Practical steps for writing or updating your agency's AI policies and procedures so you're prepared as the technology and the legal landscape continue to shift
