How can we bring attachment relationships more clearly into schema formulation? How can we help parents understand and visually map their schemas? And how can we maintain therapeutic momentum when clinical priorities change?
Schema Therapy during pregnancy and early parenthood requires both clinical depth and flexibility. Parents may miss sessions, new concerns may emerge, or immediate needs may require a change in therapeutic focus.
This advanced workshop explores how the Integrated Core Needs Approach can be used alongside Schema Therapy to support assessment, case conceptualisation and intentional, needs-led therapeutic practice.
What We Will Explore
Cups of Wellbeing: Visually mapping interactions between core emotional needs, schema activation, inner critics and coping modes.
Map of Wellbeing: Exploring schema activation within attachment relationships and its implications for parenting and relationships.
Practical First Steps: Identifying achievable short-term behavioural goals that support core emotional needs in everyday life.
Case Application: Integrating these elements through clinical examples and reflective conversations.
