Advanced Dry Needling Course (Canberra ACT)

Event description

The Advanced Dry Needling Course goes well beyond Trigger Point Dry Needling!
Participants will be provided with an evidence informed approach to the underlying neurophysiological mechanisms of this modality.

This one-day practical workshop explores dry needling applications for numerous clinical presentations, and will broaden your understanding of the various physiological effects of dry needling.
You’ll be given skills and knowledge to apply new principles in various areas of the body (not just muscles!).

This course will also significantly improve confidence in dry needling higher risk areas and teach you how to integrate objective measures and exercise into your clinical consultations.

This course brings the scientific literature on dry needling to life, demonstrating exactly how you can utilise many contemporary and novel approaches to needling in clinical practice.

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand deep spinal anatomy and apply deep spinal segmental dry needling targeting the management of vertebral hypomobility and sensitization.
  • Integrate objective measures with dry needling by using handheld algometry and dynamometry to assess for indications and effectiveness of dry needling applications
  • Enhance confidence and safety by performing deep dry needling techniques, in the thoracic spine, lumbar spine and cervical spine, ensuring safe and effective practice.
  • Integrate the use of anatomy software to gain a comprehensive understanding of 3D and cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Perform dry needling techniques that complement movement-based rehabilitation and exercise programs, grounded in neurophysiological explanations and pain science principles
  • Develop the ability to use dry needling in the treatment of problematic scar tissue, to reduce sensitivity and improve movement of associated tissues.
  • Use dry needling to interface with the fascia specifically, utilising specific fascial loading techniques to trigger change in sensation and the mobility of the fascia itself.
  • Develop proficiency in dry needling applications specifically tailored for ligamentous injuries to enhance recovery.
  • Improve your ability to assess peripheral and central sensitization and apply appropriate dry needling interventions.
  • Perform dry needling for neurological conditions including spasticity and contractures.
  • Improve treatment outcomes and effectiveness with needling technique and stimulation approaches.
  • Build a thorough understanding and improved confidence in the application of dry needling for several clinical presentations.
  • Apply and integrate clinical reasoning and dry needling application with theoretical and practical case studies

If you have already completed dry needling training and want to dramatically improve your scope and understanding dry needling, then this is the course for you.
