Course Overview
Adventist HealthCare Limited in partnership with Resuscitation Australia are proud to offer ALS 1 accreditation training.
Developed by Resuscitation Australia, this course provides essential theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to effectively recognise, assess and manage critically ill patients and work as an effective team member in cardiac arrest situations.
What will you learn?
Develop the knowledge and practical skills to:
Recognise and assess deteriorating patients using a structured ABCDE approach
Manage airways and ventilation effectively
Recognise cardiac arrest rhythms, including shockable and non-shockable rhythms
Use a defibrillator safely and understand the importance of early defibrillation
Apply the ALS algorithm and identify reversible causes of cardiac arrest
Manage cardiac arrest, including appropriate medications and return of spontaneous circulation
Understand post-resuscitation care
Work effectively within a resuscitation team using strong communication and teamwork skills

The ALS1 course complies with Australian and New Zealand Committee on Resuscitation (ANZCOR) Guidelines and National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.

Important Pre-Course Requirement - eLearning
Completion of the eLearning component is mandatory prior to attending the face‑to‑face training day. Resuscitation Australia recommends allowing up to half a day to complete the ALS1 eLearning, which consists of 20 modules.
You must provide evidence of your completed eLearning on arrival at the face‑to‑face session. Please note that failure to do so will result in Resuscitation Australia not permitting entry to the training.
Login details will be issued from Resuscitation Australia once your registration has been received.
