Advanced Literature Searching
Event description
Do you want to find most relevant articles from your search, but don’t want to get too many irrelevant results? Use the advanced features of library databases to search more effectively. This workshop is aimed at those with basic database searching experience who want to take their search skills to the next level.
This workshop will cover:
- Evaluating search strategy and modifying them to get better results
- Using proximity operators, wildcards, nested searches, field searching techniques
- Using subject headings
- Using advanced databases features
- Running advanced searches in key databases like Scopus and Web of Science
- Locating highly cited articles in your research area.
It is highly recommended, if you are not already familiar with basic search techniques, that you should also attend our Introduction to Literature Searching workshop.
Audience:
Any UTS staff or postgraduate researcher who have basic literature searching skills
This workshop will be delivered online via zoom. Participants can attend the workshop in real time, or access the recording at their convenience.
