Advanced Kayak Paddle Strokes Training
Description
This is a one-off session for learning or improving some of the more advanced kayak paddle strokes like bow rudder and how to integrate them into other strokes.
This is a single 1-hour session. It is for intermediate paddlers.
The minimum age for this course is 16 years.

- What shall I bring?
Dress for the weather, perhaps a fleece, warm t-shirt/thermal, tracksuit trousers, waterproof trousers, cagoule/windproof, hat and towel. We encourage you to wear footwear; plimsolls or wet-shoes are ideal. There are changing rooms & a toilet available in the club-house. We strongly recommend a change of clothes because, at the least, you are likely to get splashed a few times!
- Where is the FCC boathouse?
Our boathouse is situated on the bank of the Union Canal at the southern end of Harrison Road.
The nearest Postcode is Polwarth Church - EH11 1LU. Enter through the blue gate in the wall beside the canal bridge and descend some steep steps.
- What data do you keep?
Forth Canoe Club will keep a record of members’ names and addresses and contact details on a computer accessible to the Forth Canoe Club Committee. Your record may be inspected by contacting the Membership Secretary.
Forth Canoe Club are affiliated to the Paddle Scotland and will pass on your data for insurance and membership statistics use.
