Advanced Pottery with Vicki Bartlett - (8 weeks) 25T1

Our advanced pottery classes are designed for you, the experienced potter who would like to continue with your own ceramic magic. Work the wheel, hand build pots, plates, bowls, anything pottery.

You will learn and improve your techniques by working with Vicki and you will also learn from others in the group. You will be working on personal projects as well as group projects, with artistic and creative flair.

What will be covered in this course?

Depending on your interests and your projects, you can get involved in:

• Continuing pinch, coil, slab and wheel 
• Collaring pots on the wheel 
• Learning to create desired shaped pots on the wheel 
• Throwing from the hump 
• Wheel lids and galleries 
• Making Moulds 
• Resist techniques (wax, tape, paper) 
• Understanding and learning to document glaze techniques
• Slip decoration 
• Carving 
• Decals 
• Teapot making, spouts 
• Group projects for exhibition 
• Learning to fire a kiln

Each year the class works on a group project for the Woolgoolga Art Prize where you might experience techniques you might not have had exposure to before.

This class is for: experienced potters who wish to extend their skills by working with others and learning from a group of like-minded potters.

*Does not include the cost of clay, glazes or firing in the kiln.

Wear comfortable clothes and closed in shoes.
