    Event description

The Australian Standard AS 5391:2024 Advocacy for Ageing and Disability is now complete and being published. The next stage of the project is to develop a scheme which enables the Standard to be used to certify the quality of Advocacy Services and to identify areas where individual Services and the sector as a whole need to make improvements and where to target training. The Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JASANZ) has been engaged by OPAN and DANA to develop this scheme.

This is the first of three briefings to inform you of the process and to seek input as to how a scheme can be best applied to ensure that Advocacy Services are providing the best quality support according to the new Advocacy Standard.

This virtual briefing session will be held on Zoom and will take just over an hour. There will be time for Q& A from those online. The access link to join will be included in your registration confirmation and in a reminder email.

Please note: this session is specifically for people with lived experience of aged care and disability advocacy. There are seperate sessions for aged care and disability advocacy staff.
