Event description

A TREAT FOR OUR EARS, HEARTS AND SOULS.

Up next in the Courtroom Chamber Music Series 2024 is the Aeolus Wind Trio, one of Canberra’s longest-lived music ensembles.  This excellent outfit will delight us with bright, cheerful, light classical music, plus baroque and folk tunes.

Expect to be amazed and delighted when you hear the beautiful soaring sounds these three accomplished soloists create together—music that will just melt you.

Hamilton Hume and William Hovell set off from present-day Gunning to Port Phillip Bay in October 1824 - two hundred years ago.  What music might these two late Georgian-era gents have whistled and hummed as they set off on their journey?  Alas, we don’t know.  But, to mark the occasion, the trio will include some pieces from the era they might have known and enjoyed.

There are good pre-concert dining options in the historic village of Gunning plus plenty of things to see and do.  You can read all about Gunning's attractions and amenities here.
