AFDIF believes that content from the screen, media, and performing arts plays a significant role in shaping Australian culture. By showcasing more diverse stories, we can create a richer and more reflective picture of contemporary Australia for our audiences. AFDIF also recognises that organisations, culture, and creativity benefit from stories that promote cultural diversity and inclusion.

Accessibility & Inclusion

Our mission is to celebrate cultural diversity and inclusion both on and behind the screen, while providing a platform for under-represented voices.

As a small, grassroots not-for-profit organisation, we are committed to making our festival as accessible, welcoming and inclusive as possible for everyone in our community, including people living with disability.

Due to our limited budget and resources, we have selected this venue as the most suitable option available to us. As the venue operates as a public cinema, we work closely with the cinema team and rely on their advice regarding the accessibility features and facilities available at the venue.

We understand that accessibility needs are different for everyone. If you have specific accessibility requirements or would like to discuss your needs before attending, please contact us. We will do our best, within our available resources and in consultation with the venue, to support your participation and make your festival experience as welcoming as possible.

Thank you for your understanding and for supporting our commitment to diversity, inclusion and accessible cinema.
