Returning to Aireys Inlet with Beethoven’s brilliant first foray into string quartets, the Opus 18, Affinity Quartet performs all six string quartets over two performances at the Aireys Inlet Community Hall. Composed between 1798 and 1800 in an inspired burst, Beethoven’s compact and ground-breaking Opus 18 quartets defied the logic of the Enlightenment to create a striking new direction for this intimate medium.
