Reporting findings from a sub project of the AIIA study of African Australians’ agency in the political and economic spheres, Prof Farquharson explores the ways in which African Australian community organisations represent themselves online. Analysing a sample of 20 organisations’ websites and social media presence, we find the story is quite different from portrayals of crime and dysfunction that often dominate the media.
