Understanding African Rhythms w/ Blessing Bled Chimanga

Join internationally acclaimed Zimbabwean musician and iAM MUSIC Ambassador Blessing Bled Chimanga for an engaging and interactive exploration of African rhythms and songs.

Through hands-on experiences with a variety of African percussion instruments and the human voice, participants will explore traditional Zimbabwean rhythms, songs, and polyrhythms. Blessing will break down these rhythmic structures in an accessible way, helping participants understand how individual rhythms interact, layer, and come together to create the rich and dynamic musical traditions of Zimbabwe.

Participants will have the opportunity to play, sing, listen, move, and create together, connecting with Zimbabwean musical traditions through a contemporary and collaborative approach.

This workshop is open to anyone interested in African music, rhythm, percussion, singing, movement, and cultural exploration. No previous musical experience is required.
