Come join in a celebration of drumming, dance, music, food and crafts from a variety of African cultures.
Featuring:
Koffie Fugah and Kadodo Drum and Dance - Koffie is an African drum and dance teacher and performer who has been teaching professionally for 15 years. He is originally from Ghana and now lives in Dunedin, NZ where he runs Kadodo Drum and Dance School. He performs and teaches workshops all over the country and runs cultural immersion tours to Ghana with his students. Koffie will be drumming a variety of rhythms from Guinea with his students in the show as well as running a drumming workshop between 6 and 7pm.
Shukuru Munro our Tanzanian queen is bringing her African Village for the evening! You can shop for African clothes art and jewellery, have your hair braided or enjoy tea, coffee, African donuts and real fruit ice cream.
Catherine Duval is a dancer, teacher and Dance/Movement Therapist from New Zealand who will be performing a variety of styles with her dance students including Afro Fusion and moves inspired by the traditional dances of Guinea. She runs Dancers Anonymous with her husband Jet and they will be combining fire performance with Kadodo's high energy drumming for a spectacular show!
Jet Duval is a local DJ who will be playing a variety of African music genres you can join in and dance to such as: Afro Fusion, Afro Beat, Afro House, Afro Dub, Amapiano, Afro Latin House and GQOM.
6-7pm Shukuru's African Village & Drumming Workshop with Koffie
7-8pm Drum and Dance Show with Fire Performance
8-9.30pm Stay, mingle and check out Shukuru's African Village. Enjoy the African Vibes DJ set.
Under 5's are free. Door sales are subject to availability and are $10 per child $15 per adult.
On farm car parking available onsite. No alcohol or dogs allowed. All attendees must stay within the specified event area (car park and round pen arena). ROAR.
