Event description

Join Amanda Knights from the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria to learn about biomimicry at our After the Bell session on Wednesday 13 August from 4:00 pm to 4:30pm.

This term’s After the Bell session is designed to complement National Science Week: Decoding the Universe – Exploring the unknown with nature’s hidden language. Hear from experts from the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria on ways you can teach biomimicry in your STEM program and the learning opportunities available through RBGV.

Biomimicry is a sustainable design process that encourages students to tap into and emulate nature's incredible problem-solving skills. Nature becomes the teacher alongside you in (and out of) the classroom, helping you to create dynamic and authentic STEM learning experiences for your students. This session will include an introduction to Biomimicry, along with some suggestions on how you can bring this learning to your students.
