This training session is for Support Workers and Care Partners in the CHSP program.

Presented by Professor Sandra Thom-Jones, this session dispels the myths and statistics relating to Autism and Aging and provides lived experience insights. Known as the Autistic Professor, Sandra speaks candidly and passionately, backed by academic research.

Join us for an action-packed training session. With allocated Q+A, you should end the session inspired and informed.

How long will the session be?

The session will be 1.5 hours in duration. This is the second of two sessions specific to The Aged Care Diversity Framework. The first session - held on 26th February 2026, focusing on LGBTIQ+ and Ageing.

Who is providing this training?

This training session is a partnership between Inner West Sydney Sector Support Development and Training, Ethnic Communities Council of NSW, Randwick Council and Waverley Council SSD Officers.

What is the focus of the session?

The focus of this training is on neurodiversity and ageing - with a specific focus on Ageing and Autism, a hidden group within our sector where understanding is poor, misdiagnosis is often and miscommunication is daily.
