Event description

The AGM will be held on Thursday 6th November 2025, at Willis Room, 379-399 Whitehorse Rd, Nunawading VIC 3131. Whitehorse City Council has sponsored the venue and catering for the day.

Bwe Thay, President CCOEI will chair the proceedings before the nomination and election process for the new committee.

Keynote address:

‘The Future of Multiculturalism in Victoria, reflection on progress, challenges and what next for inclusive policy, what can CCOEI contribute’ by Hakan Akyol, PSM.

 

Hakan Akyol, PSM Executive Director to the Australian Multicultural Foundation Research Trust, an entity of the Australian Multicultural Foundation. 

(Hakan has an outstanding career in multicultural affairs. He is the former Executive Senior Advisor of the Victorian Multicultural Commission, Director of the Victorian Multicultural Commission and the Office of Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship in the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet.
From 1993 to 2001, he was the Executive Officer of the Ethnic Communities Council of Victoria.
Hakan was awarded the Public Service Medal on The Queen’s Birthday 2020 Honours List for his outstanding service to multicultural policy, design and program delivery in Victoria).

  5. Presenting the Annual Report 2024-2025 – Pradeep Kanthan, Secretary and Radhesh Pandey Treasurer. -10’.

  6. Passing of Special Resolution: Changes to constitution.

  7. Election and announcement of the committee of management for the year 2025-2026. (Associate/Partner Member to conduct).

  8. Address by new President. -3’

  9. Vote of thanks -3’
