Event description

Join us for the upcoming free Agribusiness Professionals Breakfast at The Makers in Burnie on Friday 29 August, from 7:45 am to 9:00 am.

Our guest speaker, Fiona Smith, is a respected dairy business consultant based in the West Vic region and leads the Dairy Farm Monitor Project (DFMP) nationally. She’ll be joined by Symon Jones from the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture (TIA) to share insights from the latest DFMP findings.

The Dairy Farm Monitor Project provides in-depth physical and financial analysis of 250 dairy farms across Australia, offering valuable benchmarking data for industry stakeholders including Dairy Australia and government bodies. In 2023/24, 30 Tasmanian farms participated in the project.

Key topics to be discussed include:

  • Seasonal environmental conditions

  • Feed production and utilisation

  • Farm profitability and its key drivers

  • How Tasmania compares to other Australian regions

This is a great opportunity to connect with fellow agribusiness professionals and gain valuable insights into the performance and challenges of dairy farming.
