Embracing a more flexible workforce model to unlock new opportunities, drive innovation, and better meet the needs of our communities.
Following the release of a recent thought-provoking blog by Dr. Susan Nancarrow, The Allied Health Academy is thrilled to offer an interactive session where participants can openly and critically explore the topic: End of the Professional Era: Welcome to the Age of Skills and Flexibility.
Facilitated by the blog’s author, this session will extend the conversation, encouraging fresh perspectives and examining innovative approaches that challenge the rigidity of traditional professional models.
As the workforce evolves, traditional professions such as medicine, law, and other regulated fields are facing unprecedented disruption. The rise of AI, automation, and digitisation is making specialised knowledge more accessible than ever before, fundamentally challenging long-held professional monopolies. This shift calls for a rethink of how we approach professionalism and workforce development.
In this interactive webinar, we will step outside institutional boundaries to explore new ways of working. This is a safe space for participants to share innovative ideas, unearth opportunities for collaboration, and brainstorm solutions that challenge the status quo of rigid professional models.
We’ll delve into how the democratisation of knowledge and codification of tasks is fostering a more flexible, skill-based workforce. What’s the future of professions when adaptability becomes more important than titles? How can we recognise and value the contribution of unregulated workers who often lack formal acknowledgement?
Together, we will explore the potential of a dual pathway model that recognises both traditional professionals and workers with specialised skills, creating opportunities for flexible career advancement. This approach empowers an agile, inclusive workforce that can respond to society's evolving needs.
What to expect:
Breakout discussions on how AI and automation are transforming health professional work and what that means for skill development.
Collaborative brainstorming around the challenges and opportunities presented by unregulated workforces and the dual pathway model.
Prompts and scenarios to inspire fresh thinking about how to create flexible career pathways and reduce the barriers posed by professional silos.
Key Takeaways:
How AI and automation are reshaping professional roles and what it means for skills, rather than titles.
The role of unregulated workers in a changing landscape and the potential of a dual pathway model for career growth.
Strategies to unlock innovation and create a more adaptable workforce for the 21st century.
