Event description

As we progress through the digital era, the maturity of artificial intelligence and machine learning creates both challenges and opportunities for business leaders.

This event will focus on the opportunities, demonstrating to attendees how other small and medium sized businesses have implemented these technologies to unlock new ways of operating and increasing productivity.

Our speakers

  • David Rush (facilitator) is the Deputy Director, Hi-Tech Industries at the Department for Innovation and Skills.
  • Dr Zygmunt Szpak is the Executive Director at Insight Via Artificial Intelligence (IVAI), an innovative AI company founded in Adelaide in early 2020. IVAI provides client-focussed artificial intelligence solutions by combining deep domain knowledge and sound business and project management practices. Dr Szpak will teach attendees:
    • What Artificial Intelligence (AI) is;
    • How to collect and prepare data for use in AI; and
    • Where to find services and support.
  • Jessica Cortazzo is the Manager, Project and External Relations at the Australian Institute for Machine Learning (AIML), a global leader in AI, machine learning, and computer vision research. The Institute translates cutting-edge research into impact through collaboration with partners including world-leading companies and local SMEs. Joining AIML in late 2020, Jessica's role focuses on driving industry research partnerships, and supporting AIML’s researchers to achieve success.

Speakers' presentations will be followed by a Q&A session - where you'll have the opportunity to submit your specific questions and hear a response from the panel.

This event is hosted by SA's Department for Innovation and Skills as part of the Limestone Coast Regional Innovation Festival. However, small and medium-sized businesses from right across the state are encouraged to attend.
