Empowering teachers to introduce AI safely, responsibly and confidently.

Dandenong Tech School is excited to partner with Futures Australia to offer a practical and engaging teacher professional development experience through the National AI in Schools Program. The training provides the ideal gateway for Year7 and 8 Digital Technologies teachers to begin introducing AI literacy with their students, building confidence in understanding, exploring and teaching AI through a safe, curriculum-aligned and classroom-ready learning sequence.

One-Day Training Session

This practical, full-day professional development workshop will give teachers the confidence, knowledge and resources to begin delivering the Introduction to AI course in their classrooms. Teachers will trial course activities as learners, review classroom resources and work through practical delivery examples, while also working directly with the course team to ask questions, discuss classroom implementation and adapt the sequence for their own students.

Introduction to AI Course Access

Participating teachers will receive access to the Introduction to AI course, including draft lesson plans, worksheets, teacher guidance and classroom activities from the full eight-lesson sequence. The workshop will focus on the foundational first half of the course, covering Lessons 1–4 in a guided and practical format. Teachers will also receive access to Lessons 5-8, which build on this foundation and extend the learning sequence.

Curriculum-Aligned Resources

The Introduction to AI course has been developed for Australian schools and is aligned to relevant curricula. The course is designed to support Technologies, Digital Technologies and related STEM learning contexts, with a full syllabus, curriculum and professional standards alignment available as a linked supporting document.
