PRESENTATION
In 2027, Boeing will celebrate 100 years since it's first heritage company was established in Australia. Of the "Big 3" companies that merged into today's Boeing Aerostructures Australia, all can trace their roots and history to within Melbourne's inner-south. This presentation will briefly describe how those companies came into existence, and their significant engineering achievements that have kept them at the forefront of Australia's aircraft industry ever since.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Adam Begg is a Structural Design Engineer at Boeing Aerostructures Australia who has worked across multiple aircraft platforms over the past 8.5 years, and a volunteer for the worldwide Boeing Company's history council. In this role, Adam helps coordinate queries about the history of the company, especially in Australia, writes historical articles for the company newsletter and performs general research. Adam's fascination with aviation and history extends beyond work to building model airplanes, flight simulation, and holding a recreational pilot's license.
