AIDN QLD Micro Credential Programs, Sunshine Coast
Event description
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Australian Industry and Defence Network, Queensland (AIDN QLD) Defence Industry Capability Edge (DICE) Micro-Credentialling Program is a strategic partnership between the Queensland Government, AIDN and AIDN member organisations to enhance Defence Industry business acumen and workforce skills to align with the new Sovereign Defence Industrial Priorities, evolving National Strategy and emerging AUKUS opportunities.
In February 2024, the Federal Government released the Defence Industry Development Strategy (DIDS) to detail its industry development priorities to meet dynamic strategic needs in “the most challenging geopolitical circumstances” since the Second World War. The DIDs introduced 7 new Strategic Defence Industry Priorities (SDIPs) which represent the industrial capabilities Defence requires in Australia.
This project will use subject matter experts to decode and unpack these strategic documents and teach skills to identify business opportunities across the 5 Defence Domains, impart digital skills to align business processes and systems to Defence needs and build business resilience nationally and internationally. Our goal is to help Australian Defence Industry remain capable, resilient, competitive and innovative into the future.
This project is driven by Australian Defence Industry need to align to the National Defence Strategy 2024 (NDS) and deliver SDIPs aligned to the budgets and timeframes outlined in the Integrated Investment Plan (IIP). The first 4 micro-credential courses offered in this series are:
- Aligning to Sovereign Defence Industrial Priorities (SDIPs).
- Business Resilience for Defence Industry.
- Optimising Digital Processes for Defence Industry.
- Defence Industry Security, Cybersecurity and DISP.
These courses are facilitated by some of Australia’s most experienced practitioners in these fields, based on successful business principles and Defence Industry best practice.

PCB CONNECT EVENT
Day one is part of PCB Connect full day event that is about showcasing the amazing range of electronics manufacturers that are in our ecosystem, as well as the advanced technology businesses that rely so heavily on electronics. It will also aim to drive the development of a national strategy for the sovereign production of Printed Circuit Boards (PCB’s) and will have the option to attend AIDN's brand new micro credential on entering Defence.
You can find the full details of the event here.
We understand that a full day out on a very specific topic and industry sector isn’t for everyone. As such, we’ve got our regular networking event in the evening from 4-7pm. If you're unable to attend the full-day event, why not attend the afterhours event where you’ll get to hear about all of the amazing outcomes from the full day, see the exhibitors, hear about local success stories in this space, and connect with the amazing professionals and businesses in this industry sector, over a nice cold drink at the Air Museum in Caloundra.
If you’d like to attend the evening session, you can do that here.
