Event description

Introducing our AIMA Monthly Meet Ups webinar series, where we aim to make learning about integrative medicine both informative and convenient.

Every third Thursday of the month, during your lunch break at 12pm AEDT, we bring you a short and insightful webinar. These webinars are designed to provide you with compact doses of knowledge on various aspects of integrative medicine. We'll share the latest research on specific conditions, offer specific skills and expertise, discuss best practices, showcase interesting case studies, or provide research updates on herbs, vitamins, and medicines.

Our format is straightforward: each speaker will present for 30 minutes, followed by a 15-minute Q&A session for your questions. It's a perfect addition to your lunch break!

We’ll also supply you with up to 5 recent research papers related to the topic, allowing you to do some pre-webinar reading if you choose.

Join us for these informative and concise sessions as we explore the world of integrative medicine together.

When: Thursday 19th October 12pm AEDT

Duration: 30-minute talk + 15min Q&A

Why is sleep so important? A research update with integrative paediatrician Dr Leila Masson

As a paediatrician I can see in my daily practice how poor sleep affects children’s and adolescents’ mood, behaviour, development, and learning. This is of course true for adults as well. I will review the recent literature to provide an overview of the importance of sleep for the immune system and the brain; the glymphatic “cleaning” that happens during sleep; and lifestyle and nutritional interventions for improved sleep.

Cost:

  • AIMA Members – FREE
  • Non-members AUD$20+gst

The sessions will be recorded so all registrants will receive a link to watch the recording.

We look forward to seeing you online!
