Event description

The air animal reminds us to take different perspectives by stepping back and stepping in.                               And... what else?

Nature Inspires.

     Earth Connection - Wayapa® Wuurrk

Join us for this facilitated earth connection session to gain a deeper connection to the Air Animal, be it a bee, dragonfly or eagle.

I am sitting here in front of my beehive, watching the bees leave and return laden with pollen. It's fascinating to watch them dance as they leave & return. Past research has told me that one of the many reasons they do this is to ensure they return to the correct hive.

I am also curious to know how and what different air animals have inspired inventions, designs, our health and how we live our lives.

In the meantime, I invite you to observe and reflect on the air animal. What stories do you have wrapped around different air animals? Notice the stories based on one of the following three layers -

  • Environmental - What can various air animals tell us about the environment we live in?
  • Cultural - What are some cultural stories you know or have heard woven around an air animal?
  • Personal - What personal stories do you have that connect you to a specific air animal

              One of my personal stories
...I am on a mission to find out the benefit that March Flies bring to the world...

                   I know biodiversity!

But what is their contribution to biodiversity?

This summer March Flies seems to have strengthened in numbers making visits to the bush and some beaches very unpleasant for my dog Stan and myself, and many others.  Their bite is painful. If you have an answer to help deter them - I'd love to know.

    What's Wayapa®?

**Wayapa® Wuurrk is an earth connection practice that acknowledges ancient Indigenous wisdom. The focus invites you to notice and embrace reciprocity with the Earth, our home.

Wayapa® is a combination of earth mindfulness and storytelling and can be practised either as a narrative meditation and/or a physical movement practice based on 14 Elements. It invites you to take action to look after the Earth as Earth looks after you.

Wayapa® Wuurrk inspires this Taster Series and we will be sharing with you ancient ways of being, doing, and connecting to the Earth, focussing on the 9th element - the Air Animal - through discussion and a narrative meditation.

When:  Choose the session time that suits you and your time zone. There are three options each month.

    * the zoom room opens 5 mins early.

    * The zoom link will be shared with you as soon as you register -

    Do you know?

I am curious to know - what songs can you think of that include an Air Animal or elements?
