Airline Builders | Cairns School Holiday Program 2025
Event description
If You Could Build Your Own Airline, What Would It Look Like?
From luxury long-haul carriers to budget-friendly regional airlines, the aviation industry is constantly evolving to meet the needs of passengers around the world. But have you ever wondered what it takes to launch an airline from scratch?
Airlines today are making big decisions about which aircraft to fly, what routes to service, and how to create the best in-flight experience for their passengers. Some are pioneering sustainable aviation fuels, others are introducing high-tech entertainment systems, and many are working out how to stand out in an increasingly competitive market.
The Airline Builders school holiday program with Aviation Australia will put students in the pilot’s seat as they design and launch their own airline over the course of two action-packed days. From choosing aircraft types and planning route networks to designing aircraft livery, uniforms, and in-flight entertainment, students will take on the real-world challenges of running an airline.
Along the way, they’ll tour aircraft maintenance hangars, hear from aviation industry experts, and participate in hands-on challenges that bring the world of commercial aviation to life. The program will then conclude with students pitching their airline concept to a panel of aviation professionals, showcasing their creativity, strategic thinking, and out of the box ideas with prizes up for grabs!
With a focus on big-picture thinking, creative problem-solving, and real-world industry experiences, this is a fantastic opportunity for young aviation enthusiasts to explore the exciting world of airlines and bring their own aviation vision to life.
