Event description

The Australian Juvenile Pipe Band Championships return in 2025 in harmony with the Austraian Solo Championships to be held at the Scots School Albury, New South Wales over three spectacular days.

Event Timeline:

  • Friday (Evening), 3 October: Piping A Grade Solos

  • Saturday (All Day), 4 October: Graded Solos

  • Saturday (Evening), 4 October: Drumming A Grade Solos

  • Sunday (All Day), 5 October: The Australian Juvenile Championships

General Information

The Australian Juvenile Pipe Band Championships events will be conducted in accordance with the Pipe Bands Australia Contest Regulations as current at time of the competition. Any promoter event(s) will be held in accordance with Contest Regulations as far as practicable and as deemed by the Contest Supervisor. Bands may only compete in their registered grade

  • Requirement of Entry/ Participation
    Participants must be members of Pipe Bands Australia in order to compete.

  • Sustainability
    Pipe Bands Australia supports the development of Juvenile Pipe Bands with a sustainable long term outlook. Juvenile Pipe Bands formed primarily for the purpose of competing at The Championships with no clear expectation of continuing are not encouraged.

  • Tutors
    Are required to hold a minimum of an Intermediate Certificate or other PBA recognised qualification appropriate to the discipline to which they are appointed (Pipe Bands Australia Contest Regulations A.3.06).
    A Pipe Bands Australia registered Piping and/ or Drumming tutor may form part of the complement of any band (Contest Regulations A.3.06).

  • Competing (Grades)
    Bands may only compete in their registered grade (Pipe Bands Australia Contest Regulations A.2.01.05)

  • Dress & Attire
    All competitors and participating conductors must dress for competition, massed bands and award ceremonies in their band uniform or appropriate highland attire to the satisfaction of the Contest Supervisor (Pipe Bands Australia Contest Regulations A.3.06.06, A.3.07.05, B.1.04, C.1.04, D.1.08 and any other appicalbe regulation).

  • Prize Schedule
    The Prize Schedule will reflect the number of participants as follows:
    1st Prize Only - Up to two (2) competitors
    1st & Second Prize - Up to three (3) competitors
    1st, 2nd, 3rd Prize - Up to four (4) competitors
