Ākina 2025: "AUAHA"

This year’s theme is AUAHA - creativity and innovation.
We’ve chosen this theme to celebrate the creative spark that flows through kapa haka, cultural performance, and our wider community. It’s where tradition meets fresh expression, and where our tamariki, rangatahi, pakeke, and kaumātua can all take the stage.

Performances from Every Age Group
Ākina: AUAHA will showcase kapa haka from all four levels of Ngā Mātai Pūrua:

• Tai Tini (0–5 years) – our youngest kaihaka taking their first steps in kapa haka.

• Tai Tamariki (6–10 years) – energetic tamariki learning discipline and teamwork.

• Taiohi (11–17 years) – rangatahi stepping into leadership and performance excellence.

• Tuakana (18+ years) – our pakeke and kaumātua who anchor and uplift the rōpū.

Together, these groups show the intergenerational strength and continuity of our kapa haka whānau.
